F A Q

Where will the 2017 Project Prom be held?

Wellington High School

What time will you leave WHS?

Students should report back to the high school as soon as possible after Prom is over to load the bus.  We plan to leave by midnight. Project Prom has reserved All Star Sports from 1:00 am to 4:00 am.

What time will my student arrive back in town?

Students should be back at the high school by at least 5:00 am where we will then distribute prizes.  We're also coordinating with parents who have come together to serve all the students a hearty breakfast.

What time will my student be dismissed?

We are estimating to be done about 5:30- 6:00 am on Sunday morning.

Why the change in venue?

We surveyed the students and they overwhelmingly stated they would like a change of scenery. We finally worked out the kinks to give it a try.  If its successul, we plan to alternate hosting Project Prom at WHS and another site every other year depending on funding. This allows the participants the opportunity to experience both formats.

Can students drive themselves to to the venue?

No.  All attendees will be required to ride the busses provided by Project Prom.

Can my student still attend Project Prom if he/she didn't sign up  in advance?

Yes. We will have extra forms on hand and we can call for parent permission to attend. But it still needs to completed by midnight.

Can my student leave in the middle of Project Prom?

No.  All attendees are required to stay for the duration of Project Prom.

How should my student dress forProject Prom?

Dress comfortably for a full  night of activities like laser tag, rock climbing wall, arcade games, go-carts, miniature golf, and more.

What about inclement weather?

We have a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities so we will still have fun and food galore.

Does my student need any money?

No. Project Prom will provide transportation, food, drinks, activities and a limited number of tokens. Students are welcome to bring extra spending money for additional tokens or additional concessions but are completely unnecessary.

Can my student bring cell phones and other personal  items?

Yes.  They will want to take pictures of course! We imagine most will need a place to store items such as keys, wallets, and purses. We will provide a spot to hold personal items for the duration of the trip. While we will do our best to keep those items safe,  Project Prom cannot be responsible for lost or stolen articles.

What about notifications?

We will call or text  parents of students who signed up but did not check in before busses departed WHS.
